With the weather forecast for the weekend and next week to include showers and clouds you may be wondering what DIY jobs you can undertake without getting wet!

Indoor lighting can be neglected during the summer months when it is not needed as much as the winter which makes it an ideal time to refurbish, repair and renew.

If you have antique and vintage chandeliers that require spares such as chandelier crystals, bobeche, chandelier arms, centre stems etc why not visit our parent company http://www.kingschandeliers.co.uk/chandelier-parts-and-accessories.html where they are one of the largest UK stockists and antique and vintage chandelier parts and accessories.

Their video tutorial pages and blog give valuable advice for restoring chandeliers http://www.kingschandeliers.co.uk/video-tutorials.html

For modern lighting accessories and lighting components then http://www.light-fix.co.uk/ is the place to go - no minimum order value, good customer service and speedy delivery

Don't forget some of the items that we sell are dual purpose, for example an engineer purchased some of our "S" hooks for a project he was working on which involved a submarine refurbishment!

Light bulbs were purchased for a incubator for baby chicks whilst other components and our 1.5mm electrical cable have been purchased for the refurbishment of vintage hoovers and heaters.

Which bulb for which lamp holder

Sometimes it can be a little frustrating trying to make sure you choose the right lamp holder or light bulb for your lighting project so here is just a quick reminder of the types we sell on our website

SBC B15 - this is the Small Bayonet Cap (SBC) lamp holder which goes with the small B15 light bulb (the bayonet cap bulb is the push in bulb)

BC B22 - this is the Bayonet Cap (BC) lamp holder that accompanies the B22 light bulb -  larger in size than the B15 bulb

SES E14 - Small Edison Screw (SES) lamp holder to accompany the SES E14 light bulb (the edison screw bulb is a screw in bulb)

ES E27 - Edison Screw (ES) lamp holder accompanies the larger E27 bulb

We also stock E12 and E26 lamp holders but these are generally, in lighting, used for lighting to be used in the US

Free Postage on selected items!

At Light-Fix  we like to ensure that our customers are getting value for money whilst retaining quality products and customer service.

As most of us are aware Royal Mail have again increased their postage costs this year but for business' using some of their services reserved for business use only they have adjusted their pricing structure and this has enabled us at Light-Fix to make adjustments to our own postage pricing structure.

As a result we are pleased to announce that on selected items we are now able to offer FREE postage AND if you combine free postage items with those that have applied postage you are only charged postage on those items that have a postage charge it does not take into account the FOC postage items.

Visit our website www.light-fix.co.uk where free postage items are clearly displayed by an identifying banner
